Young Women in Ocean Tech (YWIOT) is an extracurricular program that connects young women to female role models in the ocean tech industry, all while engaging in hands-on experiments with fun technologies!

Aquaculture and Fishing

Learn about off-shore farming, recirculating systems, IMTA, oyster-bag flippers, and AI – trawling and fish processing
Shipbuilding and boat building

Optimizing hull design, electric boats, future-focused: Autonomous, uncrewed ships, innovations in materials engineering

Marine Renewable Energy

3D design and modeling, solar, tidal, offshore wind and marine bio fuels, digital twins

Marine Observation and Conservation

Sensors and data acquisition and analysis, COVE sensor platform, data management, advanced analytics, data visualization, marine robotics for data collection; system maintenance, programming and basic electronic design, light and temperature data loggers with Arduino
